Hi,
You're receiving this email because {name} thinks the Il Crepuscolo - Michelangelo would interest you.
Il Crepuscolo, [The Dusk] is a part of a set of four statues in the New Sacristy in the Basilica of San Lorenzo in Florence, Italy.
The Dusk is one of the four allegories of the 'Parts of the Day' and is on the left of the sarcophagus of the tomb of a member of the Medici family. This statue is in a pose opposite to The Dawn. The pose of the sculpture, half stretched out, naked, gives the impression of needing to rest, as opposed to the opposite statue, which is in the act of waking.
The original statues were created by Michelangelo in the early 1500s.
This statuette in bronze leaf coated resin is 215mm high and approximately 220mm in width. It has felt pad on the base.
This is an amazing gift for someone special, or for yourself in memory of that time you made a trip to Florence and a visit to the Basilica of San Lorenzo!
