This is a gorgeous hand-painted Italian ceramic Biscotti jar with lid.  The design 'Corallo' which is Italian for 'Coral'.  The design name is so called due to the use of 'Coral Red' in this design.  It also features yellow fruit and green foliage.   The label 'Biscotti' on the front of the jar features prominently on a scroll banner.  On each side there is a lion's head with a green ring below it and the artist has detailed eyes and eye brows on each head.  The lid features a matching design and has a convenient handle on top.  A lovely pattern rings the top of the jar and matches to the lid.  

On the base of the jar the artist has inscribed by hand the where the jar has been made and painted.  'MOD' stands for 'Majolica of Deruta' and below it is 'Deruta, Italy' followed by 'Dip. A Mano', which translates from Italian to 'Painted by Hand'.

The jar measures 250mm in height to the top of the lid handle and and 165mm in diameter across the base.  The mouth of the jar is 95mm wide, easily wide enough to retrieve a cookie or two!
