The inside of the jar is painted in white. This jar has been hand painted by artists in Deruta. On the base of the jar, the artist has painted the inscription 'M.O.D' which stands for 'Majolica of Deruta', Deruta, Italy and then 'Dip. a Mano' which translates from Italian as 'Painted by Hand'.
