Rome

Rome, the Eternal City....  One of my personal favourites of the major Italian cities, Rome has a life and character all of it's own.  The over whelming feeling you get when visiting the major tourist sites in Rome though is the confrontation with the evidence of history you have read about, learnt about in school and here it is.  Right there in front of you, you walk where people literally two thousand years ago walked, your eyes behold the wonders of architecture created by people without computers, without modern machinery and yet have created things that we all marvel at today, with all our sophistication.

The images in this selection from Rome are part of my collection that I thought capture some of this wonder for me.  The sights at the Colosseum, the Pantheon, the Arch of Titus and the Trevi Fountain are just a very small selection of the wonders in Rome....
