"Cipolla" is Italian for "onion" and this jar is designed for keeping onions.  It has a lid and holes on one side to keep the onions aerated.

The hand-painted design is the Corallo design.

This jar has been made using the traditional "maiolica" process, with multiple firings in the kiln for each item.  Both the design and the manufacturing process adheres to the way these world famous Italian ceramics have been produced for centuries.

The jar measures 130mm in height.
