The great artist Michelangelo designed and carved four elaborate works for the Medici chapel in the Church of San Lorenzo, Florence, Italy.  The tomb of Giuliano de' Medici was one of them.  Giuliano was Duke of Nemours and Captain of the Church.  The female figure represents Dawn and the male figure represents Dusk
