This is a gorgeous hand-painted Italian espresso coffee cup is a wonderful way to enjoy an espresso coffee in a genuine Italian cup.  The hand painted design is 'Ricco Deruta' which is an ancient Umbrian design dating date back to the days of the Silk Trail and shows an oriental influence in the design.   It features a stylised design on a white background. 

On the base of both the cup and saucer the artist has inscribed by hand the where the jar has been made and painted.  'MOD' stands for 'Majolica of Deruta' and below it is 'Deruta, Italy' followed by 'Dip. A Mano', which translates from Italian to 'Painted by Hand'.

The cup measures 50mm in height and and approximately 70mm wide.  The saucer is 115mm in diameter.
