A beautiful Italian Ceramic hand painted Salt and Pepper Set from Deruta in Umbria.

The Zafiro design for this Salt and Pepper set features a black background and fruit including a strawberry, a cherry and grapes. The design is set off with a yellow coloured edge with the holder having a banded design on the handle.

The salt and pepper pots stand 70mm high and the container 120mm high and each one has been hand painted, including the Italian words 'Sale' for salt and 'Pepe' for pepper.

This set has been hand painted in the small Umbrian town of Deruta in Italy. The base of the holder has been hand painted by the artist with the words <MOD> for 'Majolica of Deruta' and then, Deruta, Italy and finally 'Dip. a Mano' which translates as 'Painted by Hand'.
