April Update
Any time in Italy is greatly enhanced if you can speak a little Italian and bearing in mind Kathy is fluent in Italian and in Neapolitan, Alan has decided to do some more serious work on improving his Italian. For those with a smart phone, there is a great 'app' out now for learning Italian called 'Duolingo' which is free and works by encouraging you to do a little learning every day. This is a great way to learn alanguage!

Secondly, Alan has enrolled at the local 'Dante Alighieri' Society which has language classes at all levels from 'Absolute Beginner' to 'Advanced'. This is an excellent way to learn about the 'why' things in Italian are as they are and learn with others. Check out a video here of what a real live Italian class is like!
Birthdays!
This month it is Alan's birthday and he will be celebrating another year of life! We love to celebrate birthdays and for any customers who let us know the day and month of their birthday, we will celebrate with you too! Just send us the details and we will send you a birthday gift in the month of your birthday!
Win a $350 Murano Glass Clown!
Those of you who follow us on Facebook will recall a very unfortunate incident when two of our large clowns were seriously injured in an accident in our shop. Well, one of them has been to Clown Hospital and repaired sufficiently (you can barely see his scars!) to be open to adoption. We are giving him away in a draw! Check out the details here!
People Changes
This month we welcome Rhiannon to the Dream of Italy team. Rhiannon is new to things Italian, but has a passion for style, fashion and beautiful things, so we think she will fit in just fine! She also loves people and working in a customer service environment. Rhiannon's other interests include cycling and she is a Warrant Officer with the NZ Cadet Forces in her spare time.

Once we had decided that five days picking was more than enough, certainly in one stretch, the next task was to get the olives to the mill. A good job we did stop when we did as we only just got them all in the X-Trail and the Smart Car would really have not been much help would it! If you have not yet read my post on our picking and would like to do so just click on this link. Olive Harvest 2011 – Picking
Loaded and ready to go!
Off we then went on a short drive to the Oleificio in Montefiascone, where they were expecting us. We had arranged to arrive with our crop sometime on the Tuesday morning when we we would be given a more precise appointment for our milling.
